Summary

 

Bakelite is seeking a PF1 Flaker at our Louisville, KY manufacturing facility. PF1 Flakers perform procedures and tasks required for chemical processes. Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor, package and mix chemicals used in production processes.
  • Operate multiple process equipment (i.e. reactors, blenders, powder operations, belts, columns, etc.).
  • Perform inventory and cycle count activities.
  • Perform necessary inspections.
  • Perform in-process and final product testing.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform simple mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.
  • Load finished products to tank trucks, totes, and drums.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years chemical plant experience.
  • Must be willing and qualified to wear a respirator.
  • Must be HazMat certified or willing to be trained.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.

Additional Skills Preferred

  • Team player work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good verbal and written communications.
  • Basic computer skills and aptitude to improve.
  • Aptitude to understand technical concepts.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and swing shifts.
  • Ability to work on your feet, walking and standing, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
  • Ability and willingness to work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
  • Possess good hand-eye coordination.
