Summary

Bakelite is in search for a Phenol Recovery Operator in Louisville, KY.  

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Operate Phenol Recovery Process.
• Assist Reactor Operators in raw material additions.
• Assist Flaker Operators in the flaking/packaging process.
• Perform product testing.
• Monitoring and operation of PF1 & 2 fume scrubber.
• Perform inventory and cycle counting activities.
• Perform simple mechanical troubleshooting.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform weekly safety shower inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years in chemical plant operations.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be HazMat certified or able to become certified within a certain timeframe.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to work flexible schedule.
• Ability to work on your feet, walking and standing, for extended periods of time.
• Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.

• Team player with ability to work independently.

• Good verbal and written communications.
• Aptitude to understand technical concepts.
• Ability and willingness to work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
• Aptitude to understand technical concepts.
• Possess good hand-eye coordination.
• Strong work ethic.
• Good computer skills and aptitude to improve.
