Summary

Bakelite is seeking a Technical Sales Representative in the Southern US.  This position is a sales level position that supports the service requirements of Building and Construction - Eastern Region clients and reports to the Business Manager for Building and Construction.

Essential Functions

 

  • Ensures growth of existing accounts by supporting in plant sales/service activities.
  • Assesses potential application of company products or services and offers solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Research and present reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services.
  • Uses technical knowledge of product offerings and customer processes to support and build sales.
  • Updates Sales and Operations planning on sales forecasts.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Requires proficiency in the role-specific skills and abilities. Must demonstrate a thorough understanding in the area of specialization and responsibility, typically obtained through a bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of experience.  
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Must have a background in the Plywood Industry and located or willing to relocate to lower Mississippi area.
  • Good interpersonal communication.
  • Adheres to company safety policies and work requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Previous experience in a technical / quality role.

  • Analyzes, integrates, and uses business / financial data to accurately diagnose business realities and identify key issues.
  • Actively identifying new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities. Uses newly gained knowledge and skill on the job and learning through their application.
