Summary

 

Bakelite is seeking a responsible and detail- oriented Scheduler to join our dynamic team as the primary liaison between operations, maintenance, and engineering groups and subfunctions as require. The essence of the scheduler position is to schedule, coordinate, monitor and more all maintenance- related scheduling activities.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Generate, update and publish schedules for all resources for the site.
  • Coordinate scheduled production downtime within scheduling model.
  • Work with the Raw Materials Buyer to optimize inventories and maintain the target days of supply.
  • Provide the Buyer the required delivery schedule for raw materials.
  • Analyze schedule for potential problems and report to Regional Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial.
  • Optimize Assets, staffing utilization and regional production to meet customer demand at the lowest operating cost.
  • Drive back up plans for scheduled and un-scheduled outages and lead the production schedule recovery effort for the site.
  • Reschedule production as necessary.
  • Monitor production against schedule and communicate status to site production staff.
  • Maintain the accuracy of all user-defined data in the Scheduling Model.
  • Monitor scheduling metrics to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain scheduling procedures.
  • Represent the Supply Chain Function during the daily Operations Meeting.
  • Execute MRP to ensure availability of raw materials and resources.
  • Communicate raw material shortages to Regional Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations, and Commercial management.
  • Review the accuracy of all production master data and provide corrective recommendations.
  • Manage Inventory for all materials (Raw Materials, Intermediates and Finished Products) in site.
  • Help drive productivity projects within the site.
  • Backup other sites as required.
  • Track and report metrics on inventory quantity and slow moving inventory.

 

Education and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years scheduling experience and/or operations experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles of MRP and scheduling.
  • Experience w/ SAP, M3, excel preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Able to work well with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and be a team player.
