Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Digital Solutions as a Business Development Bid Executive, which is part of our expanding Sales Team.  Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be working alongside our Head of Business Development with a focus on identifying new opportunities for the team.  In addition, you will be working with our Bid Manager on the bid process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Head of Business Development your focus will be on:
  • Identifying new opportunities for the Digital Solutions team on the various government frameworks daily (GCloud, CCS etc) by monitoring portals and the bid email inbox etc at least daily.
  • Identifying new portals and sources of opportunities for the Digital Solutions team.
  • Becoming expert in the use of government frameworks and portals maximising the team’s chance of success.
  • Qualifying opportunities using our set process.
  • Reviewing all documentation associated with a tender to highlight areas for review (i.e. payment terms)
  • Create an initial draft response to bids and populating responses with standard information and boilerplate text.
  • Building internal and external relationships with individuals to have the right support to create quality bids.
  • Contribute any new content to the bid library and support the Head of Bids in managing the bid library.
  • Manage and maintain the bid tracker to monitor activity and track success (KPIs).
  • Assist with the creation of presentations to support tenders.  Schedule internal lessons learnt post bid submission.
  • Setting up new bids in our CRM tool.
  • Provide cover for the Head of Bids as required (holiday leave and absences) including managing the bid process, providing standard corporate information, submitting and managing bid clarifications and submission of final bid document.

 

 

Skills / Experience Requirements:

 

You will ideally have:

  • Intermediate to advanced capability with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong writing, comprehension, editing, proofing, written and oral communication skills (English).
  • Experience in proposal writing and bid administration.
  • Proactive with a solution focused mindset.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking and curious – able to identify new opportunities and new approaches to respond to bids.
  • Ability to analyse complex client needs and determine a suitable response. 
  • Positive and professional, with the ability to thrive in high pressure situations and environments. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). 
  • Ability to work across multiple workstreams and contribute effectively and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet dynamically changing needs and delivery schedules as and when required.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to consolidate key messages and information.

 

  • Nice to have:
    • ability to create impactful visuals/images from written content.
    • ideally with a good understanding of the public sector and public sector procurement and Government portals.
