Job Description:

As a Goods Inwards operator, you will be an essential part of our warehouse team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the inflow of goods, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and distribution. Goods in Key responsibilities

 

  1. Receiving and Inspection:
  • Goods Receipt: You’ll oversee the process of receiving goods from suppliers or other departments. This includes verifying quantities, quality, and documentation.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that received goods meet quality standards is crucial. You’ll inspect for any damages, discrepancies, or defects & report to the account manager & inform the kitting manager with shortfalls.
  • Documentation: Accurate record-keeping of received goods, including updating inventory systems, is part of your responsibility.
  1. Storage and Organization:
  • Allocation: You’ll allocate storage space for incoming goods based on their nature, fragility, and storage requirements.
  • Optimizing Space: Efficiently utilizing warehouse space ensures smooth operations. You’ll coordinate with the warehouse team to organize goods effectively.
  • Stock Rotation: Managing stock rotation to prevent product expiry or obsolescence is essential.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Stock Accuracy: Ensuring that inventory records match physical stock through regular cycle counts and reconciliations where possible.
  • Stock Movement: Coordinating movement of goods within the warehouse, including transfers between locations, liaising with other team members.
  1. Communication and Coordination:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinating with other departments (such as Account management, Kitting , and logistics) to ensure seamless goods flow.
  • Supplier Relations: Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and addressing any discrepancies or issues with the account management team within 24 hours of receiving the goods.
  1. Problem Solving:
  • Issue Resolution: Handling any problems related to goods receipt, storage, or quality promptly.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying areas for process optimization and implementing necessary changes.
  1. Health and Safety:
  • Safe Handling: You’ll enforce safety protocols during goods handling, including proper use of equipment and protective gear.
  • Emergency Procedures: Familiarize staff with emergency evacuation procedures and safety guidelines where necessary.
  • Cleaning & Hygiene: Regularly Cleaning the area in goods in & out in the yard outside to ensure a safe & organized environment.
