Group Accounts Payable Manager

Leeds – Hybrid working

Salary up to £45,000 per annum dependant on experience

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our central finance team in Leeds. This exciting new role will be responsible for the day to day management of a team of Accounts Payable Clerks, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments to suppliers and sub-contractors, reconciliation of accounts payable transactions, overseeing invoice management, managing supplier relationships and supplier queries.

This is a full-time permanent position offering Hybrid Working based from our Leeds office (LS12 6EH) where the successful applicant will need a regular presence. Travel to other offices such as Manchester and to meet suppliers will also be required.

Accounts Payable Manager Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing monthly supplier statement reconciliations for most significant / complex accounts as well as reviewing supplier statement reconciliations prepared by the team
  • Maintenance of supplier ledgers
  • First approval of all Bacs and EFT’S,
  • Management of Supplier bank detail changes
  • Implement monthly supplier meetings managing outstanding debt and disputes
  • Review monthly CIS Return
  • Leading and developing the team, setting daily / weekly / monthly KPIs and tracking performance against these
  • Engaging with the business to deliver process improvements
  • Documentation of team’s processes and procedures
  • Management of audit process for accounts payable

What we’re looking for:

  • Management experience in Query resolution (multi-divisional environment preferable)
  • Knowledge of Sub-Contract Payments CIS
  • Knowledge of VAT & VAT Reverse Charge
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with the business and suppliers
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience managing and developing teams
  • Skills in reviewing processes and procedures then designing and implanting change to create efficient systems built for business needs.
