Completions Engineer

We have a new requirement for an experienced Completions Engineer to join us on the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C construction project. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide and demonstrate positive HSE leadership and a strong Nuclear Safety Culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
  • Support the Building lead in the day-to-day reporting and prioritisation of system and subsystem requirements. 
  • Manage the Commissioning need dates associated to the area/building/area and ensure reports are produced and socialised with the Construction team  
  • Manage interfaces and collaborate with NNB Commissioning team and MEH Program team on all system needs. 
  • Interface with Database team to ensure specific system& subsystem data is correct and progressing.  
  • Conduct site walkdowns and ensure any available Completions activities are captured and workpacks are completed. 
  • Ensure all construction activities are executed in line with relevant specifications.  
  • Ensure all access strategies have been developed for system and subsystem walkdowns 
  • Be aware of any project change within the specified Systems/subsystems ensuring that the project change process is adhered to. This will include construction documentation as well as scope change aspects of the contract in coordination with the Building Lead. 
  • Manage and conduct system and subsystem walkdowns 
  • Collation of punch lists associated to subsystems and Systems 
  • Use of core experience & engineering skills to assess practicalities and risks associated with Completions activities.
Qualifications
  • Relevant engineering qualification 
  • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering, Quality)
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
  • IOSH Managing safely
Experience
  • A proven track record in a Completions related role on large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector.
  • Ideally experienced in delivering and operating at a management level
  • Experienced in using software systems for Completion’s activities and punch list management
  • Multi-discipline understanding is essential
  • Commissioning system and sub-system appreciation leading to handover in a safe and controlled manner

NG Bailey on the Hinkley Point C Project:

We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
