Role

 

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Commercial Director to join the leadership team on a high value project in the South West of England.

 

This is a key leadership role, with responsibility for delivery of commercial strategy for a major emerging technology project of immense scale and scope. You will maximise the financial effectiveness and profitability through diligent application of agreed contractual and commercial practices, ensuring careful contractual allocation and management of risks from tender stage through to completion.   

 

This is a permanent leadership position with NG Bailey, offering significant scope for recognition and reward within a career defining, major project.

 

Responsibilities

 

Key deliverables in this role are:

 

  • Review and sign off the commercial plan, ensuring project teams have correctly interpreted and understood the contract obligations.
  • Build and maintain high level mutually beneficial customer, key supplier and vendor relationships
  • Promote the business and actively seek out new opportunities
  • Provide prompt communication and carry out negotiations as required to improve our commercial and financial position
  • Be responsible for implementation of commercial risk management through review procedures and contract negotiations
  • Keep the Group Commercial Director appraised of any major issue/risk that could impact the business
  • Ensure all records are generated and maintained to avoid and manage disputes.
  • Direct and advise on all matters of dispute resolution

 

Requirements

  • Significant experience gained within a leadership role with responsibility for the financial performance on a major ME or construction project
  • High level of commercial acumen and gravitas with ability to influence internally and with partners and customers
