JOB TITLE: Sustainable Supply Chain Lead

LOCATION:  Hybrid/Flexible (travel to offices and supplier sites across the UK required)

CONTRACT: 12-Month Fixed Term contract

 

Summary

NG Bailey has exciting new opportunity for a Sustainable Supply Chain Lead to join us and provide strategic direction to enable the integrated delivery of our Net Positive priorities through our supply chain arrangements.

This is a full time position that we are initially recruiting as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract though this could be extended with the needs of the business.  offering Hybrid and Flexible working arrangements however there will be a requirement to travel to a range of offices and supplier locations.

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: 

As the Sustainable Supply Chain Lead you will:

  • Lead our sustainable supply chain agenda, becoming a key point of contact for our supply chain (suppliers of goods and services)  and will drive the inclusion of sustainability requirement with supplier onboarding and contracting.
  • Support the organisations ESG and commercial priorities in the delivery of key targets and strategy in the key areas of: Carbon (embodied and operational), modern slavery, waste, social value and other ESG risks
  • Lead on supply chain related data collection, monitoring, reporting requirements and benchmarking for external and internal e.g. Scope 3 reporting.
  • Provide sustainability advice and support to commercial tendering activities
  • Provide support for the evaluation of sustainability requirements in both tender submissions and during a contract’s lifetime.
  • Conduct preliminary and follow up supplier audits to ensure standards are met and necessary evidence/information is gathered.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent working knowledge of sustainable policies and agendas, procurement and commercial best practice & stakeholder management
  • Experience of working to sustainable procurement standards and frameworks
  • Experience and knowledge of carbon accounting and Scope 3 carbon reduction reporting
  • The ability to stimulate and manage change and advise and influence senior level contract negotiations with large suppliers and customers
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to impart complex, sensitive and specialist information that may be highly contentious to diverse audiences
  • Well developed negotiation, persuasive, facilitating, and influencing skills and ability to think strategically
  • Understanding of commercial processes and steps from pre-sourcing, sourcing to contract management.
  • The ability to grasp complex and dynamic commercial frameworks and activities; and the capacity to explain, apply and monitor associated sustainability requirements.
  • Experience of sustainable supply chain management, a degree in an environmental/sustainability related discipline and prior experience within the construction or engineering industry would all be beneficial for this role.
