Summary

Freedom Network Services are recruiting for a manager to manage the design, construction and commissioning of the 33kV point of connection substation and 33kV cable circuits.

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Ensure Company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies are followed – Zero Harm
  • Manage team resources and ensure individuals are trained and competent.
  • Recognise best practices and promote innovation ideas.
  • Instigate incident investigations, where necessary, with support from SHEQ Advisor
  • Promote Freedom values.
  • Monitor progress against programme with support from project planner 
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Manage the project budget and prepare the monthly CVR with the project QS
  • Prepare and maintain the site H&S plans and records. Maintain, report and forecast project progress. Interact with customer’s representatives on and off site.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience of working on HV substation sites
  • Previous experience of managing the installation, testing and commissioning of switchgear, transformers and auxiliary systems up to and including 132kV, and the associated civil works.  Management of project budget and change control.  Working knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC)
  • Experience in management of subcontractors
  • Good operational knowledge of HV electrical distribution systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications, accreditations or authorisations required

  • SMSTS or NEBOSH qualified, with experience of operating on CDM sites              Essential
  • APM Qualification                                                                                                              Desirable
  • Previous DNO or National Grid authorisations                                                             Desirable
