NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Risk & IT Continuity Manager to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.

 

We are seeking an experienced Risk & IT Continuity Manager who will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated within the Data & Technology Directorate and ensuring the continuity of business critical processes in the event of disruptions.  This role involves developing and implementing IT risk management strategies, business continuity plans (CB) , and disaster recovery (DR) procedures to minimise the impact of potential threats.  They will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure that risk management and continuity plans are aligned with the organisation's overall objectives and align with the company processes and tools to manage functional and corporate risks. They will work with the IT partners to ensure they have suitable risk, IT risk management and business continuity processes.

 

Every day you will … 

  • Identify and assess IT-related risks including cybersecurity threats, data breaches, system failures, and other vulnerabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for IT systems and processes.
  • Jointly work with the IT Teams during Major IT incidents, coordinating with responses and efforts and ensuring a timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and guidelines related to IT risk management and business continuity.
  • Ensure that third party providers comply with the organisations risk management and business continuity requirements.
  • Work with the IT partners within a SIAM model to ensure all risk are being  managed
  • Work with the IT partners within a SIAM model to ensure all Business Continuity and DR plans are being manged.
  • Work with the NHS Supply Chain Risk Champions to manage risks and business continuity plans across different business Directorates.
  • Manage and maintain functional risks within Service Now.
  • Contribute and update key principles risk in the corporate Risk tool.
  • Run or participate in DR and BC tests.
  • Monitor the status of risk mitigation actions, highlighting areas where progress may be insufficient and escalating these accordingly.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • At least 5 year’s experience in a Risk and IT Continuity role, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Experience in using Service Now would be ideal but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and business continuity software.
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to IT risk and business continuity.
  • Knowledge, experiences and ideally qualifications in ITIL 4.
  • Experiences working in a SIAM model or experience working with multiple IT suppliers.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and with customers and suppliers both orally and in writing
