ServiceNow Application Developer

 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise in design, development, and implementation within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Define solutions that align with out-of-the-box capabilities across the platform.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for the extended ServiceNow team.
  • Stay updated on the latest ServiceNow features and product offerings.
  • Drive continuous service improvement by establishing best practices, reusable assets, and refining implementation processes.
  • Determine optimal utilization of tools and techniques such as infrastructure scripting, configuration management, automated testing, and DevOps practices to enhance delivery quality, speed, and experience.
  • Generate and maintain technical design and configuration documents.
  • Foster connections with key contacts and stakeholders internally and externally to drive process efficiency in implementations.
  • Troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and propose effective solutions, considering upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Lead design review sessions.

 

Required Qualifications and Background:

  • 3-5 years of experience in ServiceNow platform.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an aptitude for online interaction.
  • Experience managing ServiceNow implementations, including customer interactions and escalations.
  • Proficiency in web development languages such as JavaScript, XML, AngularJS, Bootstrap, and HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with web service integrations using SOAP and REST.
  • Familiarity with the full software development life cycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and promotion into production.
  • Ability to administer a ServiceNow instance, configure security, establish service level agreements (SLAs), develop workflows, business rules, UI pages, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, catalog items, and updates to existing solutions.
  • Skills in developing, designing, configuring, and rolling out new application modules, workflows, catalog requests, and record producers.
  • Proficiency in creating custom widgets, reports, and applications.
  • Experience with developing, designing, configuring, and rolling out service portals and customer service management portals.
  • ServiceNow experience with ITSM, CSM, Service Portal, and HR products.

  • Strong analytical skills, including trend observation and making suggestions based on results.
  • Availability and responsiveness to questions, clarifications, and instructions.
  • Ability to tailor communication for different audiences at various levels.
  • Self-starter experienced in leading development tasks.
  • Outstanding written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate concepts visually and in writing to enable confident decision-making by stakeholders.
  • Strategic approach to solution design, with the ability to develop and execute tactical plans in support of the strategy.
  • Excellent coaching, motivating, and directing skills for a multidisciplinary team of ServiceNow professionals.

 

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's/Postgraduate degree or professional qualification in Computer Science or a similar field of study.
  • ServiceNow Developer certifications.
  • Active involvement in the ServiceNow community.
