Senior Retoucher

Purpose of the Job

The Senior Retoucher will have a passion for image editing, retouching, colour management and AI. The individual must be able to work in collaboration and be able to take art direction, coordinating with other team members, such as photographers, graphic designers and producers to ensure smooth project execution. Contributing their technical expertise and artistic vision to enhance the visual impact of images to deliver the highest quality assets.  

Key Responsibilities

• Elevate the future of retouching by driving innovation in craft, quality and technology. 
• Work with digital photo retouching photos to be used in large scale marketing campaigns. 
• Ability to multitask and work on overlapping and consecutive projects at one time. 
• Apply understanding to projects in areas of colour, tone, saturation, brightness, image cropping, resolution, composition. 
• Keep a keen eye on industry trends including AI, to lead and inspire the team. 
• Mentor team members to help develop their retouching skills. 
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and other retouching software. 
• Experience working with focus stacked images, sourcing extra plates if needed. 
• Experience in colour correction, image manipulation and restoration, and compositing. 
• Understanding of file formats, resolution, and colour spaces for various mediums. 
• Ability to work with large volumes of images and meet tight deadlines. 
• Knowledge of digital photography and lighting techniques. 

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

• 7+ years as an experienced Retoucher within a creative agency. 
• Adobe Creative Suite expert. 
• Eye and passion for art, design and AI. 
• Experience working with big brands, across a range of diverse categories. 
• Superior organizational, decision making, troubleshooting, negotiating, influencing and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to lead within a team environment. 
• Ability to lead and function in ambiguity. 
• Strong attention to detail. 
• Creative agency experience a plus.
