As the head of the team the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring we provide an outstanding service to both our sales teams and our customers. The successful candidate must be adept in proposing solutions that are both technically and commercially robust. This role is one of the flagbearers for our technical community and must have a passion for technology and always be looking to grow and develop. The successful candidate will ensure that both they and the team are always at the forefront of technology and push Bytes to continually to grow and evolve.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Head of Technical Presales leads and develops the Pre Sales team and helps to drive all Bytes propositions from a technology standpoint. Working with the Divisional Director, and other key people within the business, you will be expected drive excellence through leading by example and managing the team to maximise their potential.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring solution development is consistent and where possible standardised documentation is adhered to
  • Developing know-how, best practice and driving creative thinking within the team
  • Provide Technical Pre-Sales support to customers and sales to drive opportunities forward technically
  • Maintain sufficient staffing to deliver Pre-Sales services and ensure future proofing in terms of resource capability and capacity
  • Monthly Reporting to the Divisional Director including performance and well-being of Direct Reports
  • Work closely with sales and delivery to ensure seamless delivery of projects
  • Liaise as necessary with Sales leadership to ensure collaboration and mutual insight is maintained
  • Staying abreast of technology and the organisations we deliver it to, to generate new ideas for services and technologies we should develop and onboard through Bytes
  • Manage and lead the team and ensure that they are aligned to Bytes values and strategy
  • Contribute to compelling winning customer propositions

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hold and maintain a strong understanding in customer priorities and how Bytes can help them
  • Provide thought leadership both internally and externally
  • Arrange and carry out performance reviews for their team
  • Support Sales throughout the sales cycle from qualification, through presentations and contributing to proposal writing to achieve a positive customer outcome.
  • Understand and embrace the disruptive nature of technology and turn that into compelling solutions for our customers
  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally to drive the Bytes brand and promote our capabilities
  • Lead the team by example in terms of:
    • Collaboration between vendors
    • Creativity of solutions
    • Ownership of customer engagement

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • 5+ years acting as a senior technical Pre-Sales resource

  • Proven experience as a senior Pre-Sales technical resource
  • Proven capability of the commercial awareness required to balance customer solutions with Bytes business viability
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
  • Comfortable presenting and hosting technical sessions with customers, being able to understand business needs and aligning these to technical requirements and solutions.
