PURPOSE OF JOB:

 

The Junior Security Analyst will support the Managed Security Services team in monitoring, analysing, and responding to security events. Utilizing Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, and other relevant Microsoft security technologies, the Junior Analyst will assist in protecting our clients' digital assets by identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities. This position offers an opportunity to build foundational skills in cybersecurity within a collaborative environment.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor security alerts and events using Microsoft Sentinel and Defender for Cloud.
  • Assist in the detection and initial analysis of potential security incidents.
  • Perform initial triage of security incidents to determine priority and escalation needs.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to respond to and mitigate security threats.
  • Support the identification of vulnerabilities and security weaknesses in client environments.
  • Document security incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in the ticketing system.
  • Generate routine reports on security activities and incident responses.
  • Participate in client meetings as needed to discuss security findings.
  • Work within a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Pursue relevant certifications to enhance technical expertise.
  • Writing KQL queries for analysis Sentinel logs

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

 

Educational & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

DESIRABLE

  • Familiarity with basic security principles and practices.

ESSENTIAL

  • SC-200 certification

DESIRABLE

  • SC-300 certification

DESIRABLE

  • CompTIA Security+

DESIRABLE

  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate

DESIRABLE

Years of Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, or related fields.
